Il Multiair è un sistema sviluppato da FCA che permette di controllare non solo l’alzata delle valvole, ma anche il loro tempo di apertura, con enormi benefici sui consumi, fluidità di marcia e coppia/potenza erogata.
\nArrivato sul mercato nel 2009 sui motori delle Alfa Romeo Mito e Fiat Punto, ha rappresentato un primato della tecnica automobilistica per versatilità di impiego e prestazioni. È in pratica un gruppo elettroidraulico che usa lo stesso olio che circola nel motore per azionare le valvole secondo input elettronici in base alla pressione sul pedale del gas, i giri motore, la marcia inserita eccetera.
\nTante luci, qualche ombra
\nI suoi innegabili vantaggi comportano anche alcuni svantaggi. Proprio perché impiega lo stesso olio del motore, è molto sensibile alle condizioni di questo. Se non si rispetta alla lettera il programma di manutenzione (intervalli km/tempo e fluidi) potrebbe dare origine a una serie di problemi. I passaggi idraulici e gli attuatori presenti potrebbero presentare ostruzioni che compromettono il funzionamento.
\nDi solito, quando si guasta, i primi sintomi sono: irregolarità di alimentazione (a volte strattona), perdita di potenza o risposta lenta all’acceleratore, aumento dei consumi di carburante, per citarne alcuni.
\nDIPA ha sviluppato una serie di procedure che consentono la revisione dei moduli Multiair problematici, riportandoli a condizioni di piena efficienza. Dispone di una gamma completa di moduli nuovi e revisionati per i motori a quattro cilindri (MAIR001/003/005), tre cilindri (MAIR004/006) e due cilindri (TwinAir: MAIR002) a benzina. Come di consueto per DIPA, inoltre, viene offerto il servizio di revisione del ricambio cliente “on demand”, con prezzi di sicuro interesse.
