Warnings
WARNINGS: Avoid treating this battery like a standard AGM or lead-acid battery. The LiFePO4 battery has internal management logic and communicates with the vehicle. Use a charger with maintenance function, battery monitoring and modes specific for 12 V lithium-ion / LiFePO4 batteries. Traditional testers for acid/gel/AGM batteries are not approved to correctly diagnose a lithium battery because they use different algorithms. WARNING: do not replace the lithium battery with a standard AGM. Installing a standard AGM battery in vehicles equipped with a lithium battery is not permitted; if an AGM is installed, the vehicle will display a warning message due to lack of LIN communication and the on-board network will switch to emergency mode. WARNING: the charger specific for 12 V LiFePO4 batteries is intended for the low-voltage battery, not for the high-voltage battery of plug-in hybrid vehicles. When the internal protection activates, the integrated contactor disconnects the battery from the vehicle; consequently the terminals may show a voltage between 0 and 2 V. For some newer models, to maintain battery charge for an extended period the charger must be connected using an adapter.
