Techinical Info

The Body Computer of the Mercedes Atego truck is responsible for managing the electrical and electronic functions of the bodywork and cabin. It is the system with OE code A0015432015 and oversees the operation of:

  • Interior/exterior lights, windshield wipers, fog lights
  • Central locking and comfort systems
  • Relays and distribution of current to various cabin components
  • Communication with other modules via the CAN network

It is sometimes also referred to as the onboard network module or comfort module.

Technical specifications and compatibility

  • Power supply: 12 V DC, mounted in the cabin on the driver side
  • Data networks: communication over CAN-Bus with engine control unit, instrumentation and lighting module
  • Installation: located behind the left dashboard panel

Common faults

  • Lights/indicators malfunction: lights do not turn on or blink in the absence of blown fuses
  • Lock and central locking problems: inability to lock doors, alarm warnings
  • Multiple technical errors: simultaneous appearance of several errors on the dashboard, CAN malfunctions, relays that continuously trip
  • CAN interference or blockages: caused by aftermarket modules or internal damage
  • Immobilizer trigger: with body computer not correctly coded to the VIN, inability to start

DIPA recommends replacing the body computer preferably at specialized workshops equipped with appropriate diagnostic tools and with programming and resetting of CAN parameters.

The Mercedes Atego body computer manages numerous electrical and comfort systems inside the cabin and is essential for the correct functioning of the CAN-Bus. Recurring faults include light malfunctions, locks, network errors and failed starts due to incorrect immobilizer coding.

DIPA can intervene and overhaul this component by analyzing malfunctions and restoring operating conditions to 100%. Thanks to the overhaul, the customer achieves considerable savings on repair costs and contributes to the circular economy supply chain for improved sustainability.
