ADVICE AND WARNINGS TO FOLLOW BEFORE REPLACING THE TURBO

Before changing the turbocharger, it is essential to understand the causes that led to its failure.
These operations are crucial to avoid a second failure and thus a warranty claim.
In case of a warranty claim, the execution of these essential replacement/cleaning operations must be highlighted by showing it on the invoice.
If they do not appear on the invoice, the warranty claim NO will not be taken into consideration

IMPORTANT: A turbo can break due to malfunctioning of:

- Lubrication - Intake
   ? Symptoms: The turbo whistles during acceleration

- Exhaust
   - Symptoms: The turbo whistles during deceleration

LUBRICATION
- Accurate cleaning and/or replacement of the oil inlet and outlet pipes
- Replace the lubricating oil and the filter, even multiple times during the replacement operations. The failure of the turbo can cause metal shavings to circulate freely in the lubrication system. Changing the oil and the filter multiple times, after briefly running the engine, helps eliminate the shavings.
- Check that the oil pump pickup inside the sump is not clogged. If it is, clean thoroughly and/or replace the oil pump.
- Replace the oil vapor recovery valve / blow-by valve for INTAKE.
- Check that the air intake hoses to the turbocharger do not have cracks; if they do, replace them. A small piece of rubber sucked in by the turbo, impacting against the turbine spinning at 100.000 RPM, has devastating effects.
- Change the air filter.
- Clean and/or replace the intercooler and the related hoses.

EXHAUST
- Check the integrity of the internal module of the FAP/DPF/CAT, and if necessary, replace it. If it is intact, have an internal regeneration/cleaning performed.
- Check the efficiency of the EGR valve, perform a thorough cleaning of the valve itself and the ducts of the exhaust gas recirculation system.
