ADVICE AND WARNINGS TO FOLLOW BEFORE REPLACING THE TURBO Before changing the turbocharger, it is essential to understand the causes that led to its failure. These operations are crucial to avoid a second failure and thus a warranty request. In the event of a warranty request, the execution of these fundamental replacement/cleaning operations must be highlighted through invoice presentation. If they do not appear on the invoice, the warranty request will NOT be considered IMPORTANT: A turbo can fail due to malfunctioning of: - Lubrication - Intake Symptoms: The turbo whistles during acceleration - Exhaust Symptoms: The turbo whistles during release LUBRICATION: - Thorough cleaning and/or replacement of the oil inlet and outlet pipes - Replace the lubricating oil and the filter, even multiple times during the replacement operations The turbo failure can cause metal shavings to circulate freely in the lubrication system. Changing the oil and filter multiple times, after briefly running the engine, helps eliminate the shavings - Check that the oil pump pickup inside the sump is not clogged. If so, clean thoroughly and/or replace the oil pump - Check the efficiency/perform thorough cleaning of the oil vapor recovery valve INTAKE - Check that the air intake hoses to the turbo do not have cracks; if so, replace them A small piece of rubber sucked in by the turbo, impacting against the wheel rotating at 100.000 RPM, has devastating effects - Change the air filter - Clean and/or replace the intercooler and its related hoses EXHAUST - Check the integrity of the internal module of the FAP/DPF/CAT, and if necessary, replace it. If it is intact, have an internal regeneration/washing performed. - Check the efficiency of the EGR valve, perform thorough cleaning of the valve itself and the ducts of the exhaust gas recirculation system
